A new purpose-built mobility showroom is set to open its doors to the public on Tuesday 7th July.  The Candor Care showroom will be officially launched by former England Under-21 rugby player Matt Hampson, whose inspiring recovery and ongoing work supporting young people with life-changing injuries has made him a leading voice in rehabilitation and resilience.

Matt, who sustained a catastrophic spinal injury during scrummaging practice in 2005, will attend the grand opening and officially open the showroom and welcome in the public at 1:30pm.

The new showroom has been designed to offer something rarely available in the mobility sector, a fully immersive, home-style environment where individuals and families can see, try and understand essential equipment before making decisions.

On the day visitors will be able to attend dedicated 1:1 consultations with a specialist team, giving them the opportunity to ask questions, explore options and trial equipment in a comfortable and realistic setting. Family members are actively encouraged to attend, ensuring everyone involved in the decision-making process feels confident and informed.

The space has been intentionally designed to reflect a “home away from home,” helping visitors visualise how equipment will fit into everyday life while experiencing the organisation’s compassionate and hands-on approach.

Managing Director of Candor Care Alan Ferguson said: “Having Matt Hampson officially open our new showroom means a huge amount to us because he represents resilience, determination and the importance of helping people maintain independence and quality of life after life-changing circumstances.  What Matt has gone on to achieve through the Matt Hampson Foundation is incredibly inspiring and perfectly reflects the values we try to bring to every customer and family we support.”

He added: “We wanted to create far more than just a showroom. Our aim has been to build a welcoming, home-style environment where people can feel comfortable asking questions, trying equipment and understanding the solutions available to them without pressure. Choosing mobility equipment can feel overwhelming, especially for families navigating major life changes, so being able to see and experience products first-hand can make a real difference.”

“We hope this showroom becomes a valuable community resource,  somewhere people can come for advice, reassurance and support as well as practical solutions. Above all, we want visitors to leave feeling more confident, informed and optimistic about maintaining independence at home.”

Matt Hampson OBE said: “Candor Care understands the importance that a sense of independence brings in leading a fulfilling life and I look forward to the official opening of their new showroom this summer.”

The showroom will feature a wide range of mobility solutions, including six stairlift models.  Alongside stairlifts, the showroom will demonstrate more complex care solutions including a Quattro gantry system with Molift Air 200 and bed setup, as well as a 7-metre Liko ceiling track hoist, designed to show the flexibility and capability of extended rail systems in larger living spaces. Visitors will also have the opportunity to see various accessible bathroom equipment like a Tilt in space shower chair and height adjustable sink.

Following showroom visits, customers will also be able to arrange home assessments to ensure fully tailored solutions and accurate quotations based on individual needs.

The showroom will be open Monday to Friday, 8am–6pm, with weekend appointments available on request. The public are invited to attend the opening from 1pm.  To make an appointment to discuss yours or a family member’s equipment needs call 0330 100 4564 and press 1 for sales.
